Information before your pedicure
Do I need open toe sandals/flip flops when having a pedicure treatment?
Choice of footwear is extremely important. Jessica nail polish may take up to 4 hours to dry completely (unless you’re having a GELeration polish pedicure or Phēnom). Whatever your feet arrive in, we recommend that you have flip-flops or open sandals to wear afterwards to protect your manicure from smudging or chipping.
What are the health benefits of pedicures?
Firstly, clipping, cutting and cleaning of the toenails prevents them from growing inward and causing infection. It is also important to keep toenails healthy because they protect toes from trauma. Moisturised feet are less likely to get blisters, cracks or other foot problems. It is also important to keep your cuticles moisturised to prevent nails from growing out with ridges or split ends which can cause the nails to lift away from the nail bed. Exfoliation, or removal of dead skin cells, prevents the cells from accumulating and causing bunions or corns, which can be uncomfortable and painful. The removal of the dead skin on your feet, especially on the heel, encourages new cell growth which creates smoother and more attractive feet. Massaging helps promotes circulation and helps relieve tension in the calves and feet.
How often should I have a pedicure?
We would recommend that your clients have pedicures every two weeks or, due to time restrictions, at least once a month. Encourage your clients to use our retail range to prolong the effects in-between treatments.
Can I get pedicures while pregnant?
It is safe to have a ZenSpa pedicure whilst pregnant as long as you make your therapist aware, so they will not hit certain pressure points within the foot massage.
I’ve been wearing lots of dark shades and my toenails are discoloured, what can you do to help?
While you wait for the staining to grow out, use Jessica’s Nail Whitener as a concealer for your nails. To prevent staining in the future, always use a base coat to act as a barrier between the polish and your bare nail. Remove your polish after no more than 3 weeks.
What is the reason for re-occurring ingrowing toenails?
There could be a number of reasons that an ingrown toenail develops and re-occurs including; Badly cut toenails (cutting your toenails too short, or cutting the edges). Wearing tight shoes, socks or tights (this can place pressure on the skin around the toenail). Feet that are prone to sweating (if the skin is soft around the toenail it is easier to the skin to pierce). Injury, (for example stubbing your toe). The natural shape of the nail (the sides of curved or fan-shaped toenails are more likely to press into surrounding skin).
Is the ZenSpa Pedicure Range vegan?
Yes, the pedicure range can be classified as vegan, as there are no animal by-products in the formulas.
