Eye Treatment Aftercare

EYE TREATMENT AFTERCARE

The great thing about Eyebrow tints and lash lift and tints is that they are very low maintenance however, there is a little extra care required if you want them to look their best for longer!

  • If your brows or lashes look too dark, don’t worry – it will fade. It’s important the colour is a little darker to begin with so the tint lasts. The initial darkness will only last a few days and will get a little closer to the right colour every time you cleanse your face.
  • Keep lifted and tinted lashes and brows dry for 24-48 hours.
  • Do not apply make-up or receive any other eye treatments for at least 24-48 hours after your treatment.
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes.
  • Avoid putting contact lenses back in for 24-48 hours.
  • Avoid swimming/sauna/sunbathing for 24-48 hours.
  • Use a lash conditioner daily and avoid waterproof mascaras.
  • Do not use oil based products or any conditioning treatments/ serums on the tinted hair. This can strip the tint from your lashes/brows.
  • Comb lifted lashes upward using a mascara wand.
  • Avoiding sleeping on your face for up to 2 days after treatment to prevent the lashes being squashed by the pillow.
  • If any stinging or swelling occurs, keep applying a cold dampened cotton pad, cold compress or cooling spray to sooth. If it persists seek medical advice and let us know so we can put it on your record card.
  • Strong sunlight/UV light can make the tint colour fade faster.
  • Effects of the tint will start to diminish within 2 to 3 weeks as hair grows out and the tint colour fades but lifts and tints usually lasts 4-6 weeks.

If you have had an eyebrow wax:

  • Treat yourself to a no make-up day to allow your skin to breathe. Bypass your eyebrow pencil or brow gel. Once any redness/soreness disappears you can go ahead and apply your make up again. For the majority of people, their skin will return to normal very quickly but if you tend to suffer with sensitivity you may need to wait a bit longer (or you can apply a cool pack to your brows to speed up the recovery process).
  • In between brow treatments try not to pluck out new growth. Allow your hairs to reappear as normal so your therapist can create the perfect shape at your next brow treatment, especially if regrowth has been advised to fix gaps or improve thickness. Having said that, you can get away with plucking out a few stray hairs as long as you don’t veer too close to the main brow shape that you’ve worked so hard to maintain.
  • Make sure to wash your hands before touching your just-waxed skin.
  • Avoid the swimming pool, sauna, hot baths and steam room for at least a day after waxing to prevent bacteria getting into your open pores or aggravating your skin. You should also steer clear of sunbeds and spray tans for the first 24 hours.
